Tel: +852 39435340 Office: SHB601D Baihao was born in Zhejiang, China, and grew up in the cities of Wenzhou, Jinhua and Hangzhou. He received his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Zhejiang University in 2015, where he worked on fluorescent probes for endogenous gases detection under the supervision of Profs. Xin Li and Yongzhou Hu. Following another year of research in the same lab, Baihao moved to New England of the United States and joined the research group of Prof. Ivan Aprahamian at Dartmouth College in 2016. While there, he focused on the mechanistic investigation of bistable hydrazone photoswitches and the development of hydrazone-based switches, materials and molecular machines. After completing his doctorate in 2021 and a stint in Prof. Yuan Ping's lab, Baihao moved to the England to begin his postdoctoral journey in the group led by Prof. Dame Molly Stevens FRS FREng first at Imperial College London in 2022 and later transfer together with the group to Oxford in 2024. His research there aimed to better translate photoresponsive therapeutics for clinical applications, where he implemented bioelectronic devices to enhance in vivo delivery of light and drug carriers (including living cells) to optimize the ADME properties of phototherapeutics. In August 2025, Baihao joined the Department of Biomedical Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong to kick off his independent career. |
